While delivering packages today I was lost in thoughts. I asked Tartek if I could leave work a bit sooner, told him a bit about our problems. Tartek understood my situation - as he's in one of the same kind as well at the moment (yes, still...) - and wished me good luck. I went to Carana's friend's house and knocked at the door. It took a while until Inosa opened it and I asked her if my wife would be here. To my surprise - she shook her head. I asked her if she had any idea where Carana could've been. She shook her head again, and asked if something had happened. I told her about our fight and everything, and that I thought she'd be here. She wished me all the best with greetings to my wife.
There was no other place in Insomida where she would be going whenever we had a fight. At first I thought that maybe she lived in school now, but I couldn't find her in school the last time either, so she had to be somewhere else. But where? She wasn't really well known throughout town, so I couldn't walk around and ask random people if they had seen her somewhere. I tried Scarlat's place though, but no one even knew me (except Scarlat himself, but he hadn't seen Carana either).
I thought that maybe she had gone back to her home town Astatik to visit her parents, but it takes two days to get there by horse and she's got an important job at school, not to forget the tests of her students, why would she leave? Just because of a fight with me? We've had harder ones, actually. There's something fishy about this whole situation. And all I can do is wait here with my journal of a dead criminal, candle light, and soup. I'm going to try to distract myself and finish my book. I'll try to visit school tomorrow morning, then there'll be people around that I can ask about Carana.
