It's like a tradition already. Every last day we spend with Carana's parents her mother cooks Carana's favourite meal (potatoes, very expensive cow meat and a secret spice, which her mother would still not tell us). Carana looked really well today, we even took a small walk around outside to prepare her for the journey tomorrow.
Carana's father asked me about Stam, if it really happened the way I described it and I assured him that I was telling the truth. Then he told me that I hadn't met Stam Durkenbarg, but Stam's insane brother, Klum, who became crazy because of his envy of Stam's success.
"But what about the old man who sent me to the house?" I asked him.
"That was Stam. He does this to test people. If they know how he looks like they are worthy of talking to him. If not, they will be sent to his brother." Carana's father explained laughing. Carana's mother was almost crying because she was laughing so hard.
"You knew about that?" I asked her.
She couldn't say anything, she just shrugged and kept on giggling.
I didn't understand the meaning of this. Did they do this on purpose or did they just forget about it? But anyway, at least they had something to laugh about. Especially Carana's mother. But how could I even be so "lucky" to actually happen to meet Stam himself? I guess it was just one of my bad days or something.
At least there weren't any spiders in Klum's garden.
