Halfquake Trilogy has been approved! That means I can fix/finish all remaining issues/additions and I'll be able to release it.
Here's this week's changelog:
* hq3_2i: Changed the layout of the train in the room with the white translucent death pillars for better control. I think it's much better now (you don't get stuck in the train anymore while moving), while still retaining the feel of the trap.
* hq3_10: Fixed two texture errors, as well as a crash when exiting the room with the lasers on the ladders. For some reason, the trigger_multiple, which is supposed to turn off the lasers once you have activated the button inside the laser room, crashes the game. I simply removed it and let the lasers move forever.
* hq3_7: Fixed wrong train sound of one of the little trains behind the glass. Turns out, one of them still had a custom sound that didn't use the new plats/hq3/* directory. There was a train stuck in the wall during the HQ3 live stream, but I couldn't reproduce it, so I file it under "not important". At least the sound is fixed.
* hq3_6: I lowered the spikes just a bit, and I fixed the platform sound for the trap where you have to press a button and jump at the same time (it was missing the new hq3 directory).
* hq3_13h: Added missing life cell sound.
* hq3_7i: I fixed the lighting of the pillars in the lava, since it was inconsistent. Here are two shots before the change, one in HQ1 and one in HQ3:
I added some light_spots below the surface of the lava to make it look like the lava is, you know, a little bit on fire. I could keep tuning it, but I'm happy with how it looks like now:
* And finally, I replaced the "Stayin' Alive" sample in the beginning of HQ2 with something new and different, which I won't spoil here. Suffice to say, it was a lot of fun to make. :D
There is still one error left in HQ3 (in the music puzzle, the train near the notes doesn't loop anymore), after which I'll implement five new easter eggs, two of which are already finalized and locked in.
Then I still have to write a few text files and focus more energy on the store front. But an end is in sight.
Reminder: All of my current patrons will be mentioned in the credits of the Halfquake Trilogy, so if you want your name to be included and aren't a patron yet, now's your chance. *sly wink*
To be continued... (<
